The idea was great. Xu had to admit that it covered all the bases, and in light of recent events it sounded fun. Fun she realized, that everyone was in dire need of.

"Quisty." She said as the two woman walked around the corner and down the stairs to the lower levels of the Esthar Library. "Your idea is just wonderful! It’s a great idea."

"Well, I just hope the other instructors agree." Quistis said as she grinned at her friend.

"Oh, they will. Besides, we all need something fun to look forward to." Xu pointed out, as she moved her hands around while talking. "It’s a great way for everyone who survived to let out some steam, and take a break. Everyone needs this I think."

"True." Quistis agreed. "However, we still have to sell the idea on the rest of the faculty."

"Come on Quisty, lighten up. The idea’s great." Xu said with a chuckle as the two reached the bottom of the stairs and stopped to collect some personal effects they had to leave at the door. Such as their weapons, which were as of then a mandatory effect to carry around in the huge city, seeing as there were still a few monsters who liked to roam around in the slums and sometimes upper areas ever since the events of the Lunar Cry.

The women continued to discuss the idea Quistis had, when both happened to spy one of the three Cadet survivors from the attack on Balamb Garden, and Jay, Seifers charge who was temporarily under Xu’s care.

To Xu, it seemed like the two students were in a heated argument. Sighing she stepped forward to put a stop to it when Quistis placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hold on a second Xu, I don’t think anything bad is going to happen. Lets just listen in on what they’re talking about."

"Okay, okay." Crystal said as she followed Jay who was putting his coat on. "A deal’s a deal. One date."

"Great." Jay said as he handed the President of the Quistis Trepe Fan club her own coat as well. "I look forward to your decision. In the mean time, I have a class to get to. Unfortunately."

"Yeah, sure." Crystal Said as she scowled at the back of Jay’s head and then followed him out of the library.

Quistis snickered and looked at Xu. "Well, well. It looks like we have a player on our hands Xu."

"You mean we have another Seifer on our hands." Xu corrected as she sighed and looked at her friend. "It’s bad enough we have one Seifer, we don’t need two."

"Oh, I forgot, Jay’s been staying with you till Seifer is better, as is Pence."

"Correct, and I can’t wait till Jay’s back with Seifer. Kids a royal pain in the arse. Pence however, will be staying with me from now on, since Zell isn’t here anymore."

"Mmm." Quistis mused as she nodded. "Too bad about that though."

"Eh, he was always reckless." Xu said with a chuckle. "Did you know, that he had the nerve to ask me out during the attack?"

"No way!" Quistis giggled. "He actually asked you to go on a date?"

Xu nodded her head as the two walked out of the main doors to the library, and chuckled. "The goof sure did, right before he went and got himself killed."

"Xu?" Quistis murmured as the two woman waited at one of the central hover stations.

"Yeah?"

"Do you miss him?"

Xu nodded her head after a moment of thought. "Yeah, I do. It’s funny that way, while growing up to him next door, after he was adopted in Balamb I always thought he was just one of those annoying boys."

"At least you didn’t have to baby sit him." Quistis offered.

"Oh my, that’s right. You grew up with him in the orphanage that Edea ran." Xu said as she looked at Quistis with a smile. "In fact, if I remember correctly, you grew up with Squall, Seifer, Irvine, Selphie, and Ellone too."

Quistis nodded her head. "Yeah, first Ellone left, and then Zell. The rest of us followed a few years later when Edea sent us off to be with Cid at Balamb Garden."

"It’s going to be hard without them." Xu muttered as the hover seat arrived and the two women sat on the soft couch like object and waited for it to take them back towards the temporary base for the survivors of Balamb Garden.

Ellone chuckled and covered her mouth as she watched Seifer and Squall argue.

"Ellone!" Seifer said as he turned his head to look at her. "You agree with me, don’t you?"

"I don’t know." Ellone said shrugging her shoulders as she smiled at Squall. "Depends on what you mean by idiot."

"You know very well what I mean!" Seifer growled. "How long did it take him to figure out that Rinoa liked him?"

"Hey!" Rinoa squawked. "I’m right here, you know." The raven haired beauty muttered as she stuck out her tongue at Seifer.

"Well," Ellone said. "You and her used to date right? How long did it take you to figure out she thought she loved you?"

"That is so old news." Rinoa said with a laugh.

"Whoa, hold on. She had feelings for me?" Seifer sputtered looking at Rinoa briefly before tilting his head back and letting out a rip roaring laugh, "Okay, you have me beat. I was unaware that she felt like that."

"Excuse me?" Rinoa said giving Seifer a disgusted look. "What do you mean you were unaware? Did that summer we met mean nothing to you?"

"Well, uh.." Seifer mumbled as he slumped down in his chair. "yeah." he said finally.

"Why you, you." Rinoa sputtered as Squall slapped his knee and roared with laughter. "I thought I was very obvious!"

"Ha! Those feelings obviously didn’t last when you thought I was dead." Seifer pointed out with a sneer.

"Stop, oh please stop." Squall said as he held his sides while laughing. "You’ll both kill me."

"You don’t say." Seifer said with a scowl. "Why, pray tell, do you find this so amusing?"

"It’s because," Squall howled with laughter, "both of you sound like an old married couple."

It was Ellone’s turn to laugh, and laugh she did. It had been years since she saw Squall smile, but that wasn’t why she was laughing. Rather, she was laughing at the looks of shock, and total disgust and surprise on the faces of those around her at Squall’s answer.

"AMUSING." Fujin said with a smirk as she nodded in Seifers direction.

"Ah no, Fujin. No. It wasn’t like that at all."

"LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE." Fujin replied with an ear to ear grin as she threw her pillow at Seifer.

"Fujin." Seifer whined as he ducked and grumbled. "Seriously it wasn’t what you think. Come on, you have to believe me."

"ONE REASON." Fujin grunted with an amused tone.

"It was a fling!" Seifer said before he could stop himself.

"Excuse me!" Rinoa shouted as she stood up and stomped over to Seifers bed. "A Fling! A Fling? I’ll show you fling mister." Rinoa said as she literally bent forward and started to tickle Seifer.

To Seifers utter horror, and embarrassment, everyone saw Rinoa tickle him on the sides of his chest as she grinned like a wolf ready to pounce for the kill.

"Rinoa, stop please." Seifer grunted halfway between laughter and a gasp for breath.

"Not till you apologize." Rinoa said, not relenting her preferred method of torture, for she knew it was torture to Seifer. She knew he hated to be tickled.

"Sorry." Seifer squeaked.

"Can’t hear you." Rinoa sang.

"Sorry." Seifer said loud enough for the entire room to hear.

"And?" Rinoa pressed.

"Rinoa, come on. What else do you want from me?" Seifer grumbled.

"Your friendship would be nice." Rinoa replied as she stopped tickling Seifer and grinned happily.

"Huh?" Seifer muttered blinking. "Friendship?"

"I mean," Rinoa said as she turned on her heel and walked back towards the chair she had been sitting in. "that all of us should put behind us what happened in the past."

Seifer looked at Squall, Squall looked at Seifer.

"Does this mean we have to kiss and make up?" Seifer said with a grin, as Squall burst out laughing again.

This time Rinoa was the one who was missing out on the joke.

"What’s so funny guys?" Rinoa asked as she looked from one man to the other. "Guys? Hey, come on."

"IDEA, IMPOSSIBLE." Fujin said with a grin as she looked at Rinoa.

"What? I don’t understand." Rinoa pouted sticking out her lower lip.

"She means." Raijin explained, " That Seifer, and Squall have always fought, even while growing up in Balamb Garden."

"Humph." Rinoa said crossing her arms over her chest.

"It’s true." Ellone offered. "They were always fighting in Edea’s Orphanage."

"Ha!" Seifer shouted. "Want to know why we always fought so much back then?"

"Sure, why not?" Ellone said nodding her head with a smile.

"It was because," Seifer said as he stretched, "Squall as a kid was always hogging you."

"Figures." Ellone chuckled as she smiled at the group of people she shared the infirmary with.
